Whether it is music education, music performance, music and worship, or music business, our faculty are looking forward to sharing thoughts and perspectives to students considering a career in music.
New Drumline Equipment!
We are so excited for our new drumline equipment! Thank you to the WB Band Boosters for sponsoring this purchase, along with some new band front equipment (pics to come). This is all equipment that we desperately needed to ensure the safety and success for our students; however, these are large purchases that do not usually fall on the booster organization. We are gladly accepting donations from WB alumni and community to offset the cost of this equipment. If interested in making a donation, you can contact a booster officer on their facbook page, or contact a booster member directly. You can also email Mr. Jones at, [email protected]
A Special Message for the High School Concert Band!!!
You have received a special message from Mr. Steven Bryant, the composer of "The Machine Awakes!" A special composer-highlight has also been added to links page. To see it and find our more about Mr. Bryant, CLICK HERE!

RIP Bill Withers.
Well, 2020 has dealt us ANOTHER kick in the shin. The King of Soul, Bill Withers, passed away today. If you don't know Bill Withers, shame on you! Or your Parents! Or your Grandparents! It's someone's fault and you should blame them! You're teenagers...it's what you are good at. Bill's songs have actually been trending lately, as health care workers have been posting recordings of his music as a way of comforting others and banding together. Check it out!

MUSIC @ HOME 1 (3/18/20)
We would love to encourage our student-musicians to use this time as an opportunity to indulge in music as a healthy hobby on a daily basis. This, of course, is always the goal & hope for our students, but life (social calendar, academic pressure, extracurricular commitments, etc.) can make this difficult to achieve. We are encouraging students to pursue growth at their own time-frame! Here is how!!
High School Band/Chorus
(Band) Everyone can be spending time (daily) on concert literature. The "concert band" ensemble-page has recordings that can be used to reference or practice with. Scale sheets and fingering-charts can be found on the download-page. Email Mr. Jones with any questions.
(Chorus) I will be working on getting PDFs of all of the songs available to you on this site. Recordings are available on the "concert chorus" ensemble-page and can be used as a reference or to practice with. Please making singing a part of your daily routine.
Everyone can use this time as an opportunity to do a "deep-dive" into their literature and come out of this a more prepared and confidant musician!
5-8th Grade Band
Please strive to make practicing a part of your daily-routine! This has always been the goal, but busy schedules and multiple commitments make this difficult. Take advantage now! You may be surprised by not only how much better you get, but also how much you enjoy it! There are recordings of your concert music on the "Middle School Band" ensemble-page that you can listen to and practice with! In addition, here is where each grade has been focusing in their book:
7-8th Grade: Concert Music (Gypsydance, Rising Star, Samurai, SSB)+ Bb Concert Scale+Book: 112-134
7th Grade: Concert Music (Gypsydance, Rising Star, Samurai, SSB)+ Bb Concert Scale+Book: 69-77
6th Grade: Concert Music (Gypsydance, Rising Star, Samurai, SSB)+ Bb Concert Scale+Book: 69-77
5th Grade: "Notes in Review" on pg. 6, #14, 17, 18, 23,25,28, 30, 31, 34, 42, 43, 44
8th Grade General Music
This is the PERFECT time for those relaxation exercises! Also, take the time to not only listen to music but find some new music to sink your teeth into!

Update on the Updates (2: 3/18/20)
Schedule Changes
Good news! Broadway has accepted our refund-request and cancelled our reservation without fee! This means that boosters/individuals do not owe anything towards the cancelled NYC trip.
At this point, drum-major/drumline/band-front tryouts will be rescheduled at some point. We will keep you posted on more changes as we discuss future events that include, but not limited to: banquet, fundraisers, and performances.

Public Health Updates & Cancellations
Dear Music Students & Families,
Directives to address Coronavirus (COVID-19) across our communities have led to the following cancellations:
1) PMEA Region III Band Festival is now cancelled. Students who want to be considered for All-State need to submit auditions via online. See Mr. Jones for more information.
2) PSU "March Forward" event attached to the Blue & White Game has been suspended.
3) Due to safety measures being taken at NYC and in our own district, the Marching Band trip to NYC on 6/6/20 has been cancelled. Our reservations with the busing company and restaurant have been cancelled without issue. We are currently working with Broadway to return our tickets, with the hope to receive a refund so that no one is financially responsible for any payment. We will update everyone as this situation continues...
4) Instruments should not be kept at school overnight & need to return home with students after their lesson/practice. Students should wash their hands BEFORE handling their instruments and are encouraged to wash their mouthpieces AFTER they are done practicing to keep their instruments clean!
5) The Music Department will be using this website & Remind to keep music music-families updated on any other changes to our spring schedule. Please contact Mr. Jones directly via email with any questions.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we navigate these uncharted waters.

Congrats District 4 PMEA Band!
